Manchester City are keen on AS Roma’s Luca Petrungaro, according to Italy’s Tuttomercatoweb. Petrungaro is a 17 year old striker, and has appeared for his country at youth level.
The youngster has impressed recently in an international youth tournament in Doha, where some of the competition may not have been of the highest standard.
Petrungaro scored against a Syrian ‘All Star’ team as Roma ran out 4-0 winners, and whilst the opposition may not have been some of the toughest, it appears the youngster has done enough to catch the eye of interested clubs, impressing in Italian domestic youth football too.
TMW report that Manchester City wouldn’t have it all their own way, with Red Bull Salzburg also keen on the player. Red Bull have a good reputation for identifying, and signing some of the best young talents available, it’s part of their long term plan.
AS Roma would obviously be keen to keep the player from Pep Guardiola’s clutches, and whilst Manchester City are said to be keen on the player, there’s no advance on what they intend to do with that interest.
