Manchester City are linked today to Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon.

The news comes from Italian website Calcio Mercato, who brings some details of the race for the player this summer.

They say it’s mainly AS Roma who are chasing the 21-year-old. The Serie A side are willing to pay €12m for the transfer, however, the Ukrainian club are demanding at least €25m.

The reason his price is high is interest from ‘top European clubs’, and that’s where Manchester City get a mention in the story.

Despite saying Roma are ‘willing’ to pay €12m for the player, Calcio Mercato doesn’t brings any details on how far Manchester City’s interest has gone so far, or how much the Premier League side would like to spend.

There’s a possibility Pep Guardiola’s side are being used to hype the value of the player, and justify his club asking for so much.

Solomon had six goals and five assists in 29 appearances for Shakhtar Donetsk last season. He faced Manchester City twice in the Champions League group stage, and scored a goal in their 1-1 draw in Ukraine.
