The Colombian media reports this week about Manchester City interest in Talleres winger Diego Valoyes.
The information is brought by former footballer Fabián Vargas, who on Radio Caracol said the Premier League side have been chasing the 24-year-old.
Quoted by Primer Tiempo, he said: “They tell me that it seems they are following him from Manchester City in England.”
The website wonders if this interest really comes from Manchester City or if it’s actually from the City Group.
However, Fabián Vargas clearly said Manchester City, so that’s what we’ll take for now, even though it’s strange to see them chasing a player of such an age.
An obvious problem Valoyes would have in his move to the Premier League is the chance of getting a work permit, since he isn’t an international for Colombia and hasn’t featured in the Copa Libertadores lately.
The City Group recently made the purchase of South American sides Montevideo Torque and Bolivar. That shows their clear interest in the continent’s young talent, so it’s no surprise to see their approaches for local players increase.
