First it was claimed Sead Kolasinac had signed for Arsenal, then his father made it clear that wasn’t the case, and the potential transfer was merely a good possibility rather than a done deal.

Kolasinac’s contract with Schalke ends in June which means he’s perfectly entitled to talk to other clubs and agree a free transfer. In Germany the most strongly linked Premier League club had been Manchester City, with meetings said to have already taken place.

Then it was reported that Arsenal had strongly come back into the picture, after making initial approaches in February, and it quickly became a sure thing.

However, German newspaper Bild aren’t so sure and state, according to their own information: ‘Still alongside Arsenal in the race are Manchester City and AC Milan.’

Once Kolasinac has reached an agreement with a new club the transfer can be announced, there’s nothing to contractually hold back the deal being made public.

Manchester City will need to work fast to stop Kolasinac moving to Arsenal, that’s if the recent claims from Bosnia of a deal being close are correct.
