Manchester City’s summer transfer business will likely largely depend on what the Court of Arbitration decide with relation to their FFP situation.

Should the original two year ban from UEFA competitions be upheld, or even if it’s reduced to one season, then it’s natural that it would have some impact on what the club want to spend in the coming windows.

Monday’s edition of Il Mattino, via AreaNapoli, edges Manchester City back into the chase for Kalidou Koulibaly. Manchester United and Liverpool again get mentions, and then it’s stated Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘expressed’ their appreciation for the potential signing.

That all depends on what CAS decide.

Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani has spoken to Napoli in recent days about a potential move, and to try and get the Serie A club’s €90m price tag down.

Manchester City paying such an amount, or even close to it, for a defender who hasn’t had his best season, and who turns 29 years of age this month, feels unlikely regardless of what comes from the CAS hearing.
