The race for Tanguy Ndombele may well be heating up, at least if reports on Monday are to be believed.
From France came claims of serious Real Madrid interest, with it even being stated the Spanish club have held a positive meeting with the player’s entourage.
Now, it’s Manchester City’s turn to have their interest talked up.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been linked on repeat occasions, but TMW says City are now pushing ahead of the pack. It’s claimed the Premier League club are ‘ahead of everyone’ in the race, and that they’ve even got their financial offering together for both Lyon and the player.
Manchester City would be ready to pay €70m to sign the midfielder, and give Ndombele a five year contract on a salary of €3.5m a year.
That sounds low, and it may well be the after tax figure, although TMW don’t make that clear. Bonuses would also be added to the salary.
It’s described as a ‘strong and clear proposal’ for the player.
