Allianza Lima manager César Torres has confirmed the club are in talks with Manchester City over youngster Kluiverth Aguilar.
The 16-year-old was first linked with a move to the Etihad back in June, with reports claiming they were interested in his signature.
Then, earlier this month their interest was pushed once again, with website Depor making it clear he was a player Manchester City were keen on.
That was followed by Kluiverth’s teammate Adrián Balboa pretty much confirming a deal when he claimed City had already tied up a move.
That appears to have been a little wide of the mark, though, with Alianza Lima boss César Torres instead denying that the deal has been finalised.
Speaking to Fútbol Como Cancha, he admitted Allianza Lima ‘are in talks’ with Manchester City about a move for Aguilar ‘but there is nothing signed yet’.
The manager did not go into the details of the potential move, but the fact that Manchester City are pursuing a deal cannot be denied.
The manager’s comments suggest there is still some way to go before Aguilar is on his way to City but that now looks like being a case of when, rather than if.
