Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte is ‘ready to leave’ the club, according to reports today.
French outlet Foot Mercato claims the player is about to ‘pack up’ and move somewhere else, now that he has become a ‘luxury substitute’ for Pep Guardiola.
It’s said that Laporte ‘is clearly open to an exit’, and recalled that his name had already been on the sights of Barcelona when the Catalan club had been looking for a replacement for Gerard Pique.
Manchester City don’t seem to be making many efforts to hold Laporte, because according to Foot Mercato, they already have someone to replace him in the squad, which is RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.
Even though Pep Guardiola’s side failed to land the Croatian star in the January transfer window, they continue to have him as a ‘priority’ for the summer.
That action could only accelerate the departure of Laporte, who only has 15 appearances for Manchester City this season, and seems to be disappointed with the little playing time he’s been getting at the Premier League side.
Now we wait and see who will try to sign him in the summer.
