After being left out of Real Madrid’s match against Valencia this week, Isco’s situation at the Spanish club has just got worse.

The player isn’t any happy with the lack of minutes he’s getting, which creates a big expectation for a possible departure in the summer. His recent quotes leaving his future ‘open’ haven’t pleased Madrid’s board either.

As covered by the local media this week, Barcelona are said to be keeping an eye on the situation. They are the player’s favourite destination, as Manchester City, Chelsea and Juventus are also said to be following him.

CapturarBut this Friday, Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo comes up with an article saying that Isco’s contract has an anti-Barça clause, which means he can’t join the club directly from Real Madrid.

This is probably something new for Mundo Deportivo, since a few days ago, they claimed that such clause didn’t exist.

Isco’s contract expires in 2018, which means Real Madrid would have to sell him next summer so they don’t see him walking for free the season after.

But with the anti-Barça clause, it’s Manchester City who become the ‘most convincing’ destination for the attacking midfielder. The player is said to be a fan of Pep Guardiola’s style, and the club would also like to count on him.

Isco has a €150m release clause, but Real Madrid obviously know they won’t get anything close to that with only one year of contract left. Now it’s up for the interested clubs to try to drop their demands as much as possible.
