Manchester City consider €50-60m as enough to get them Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt this month.

That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who report that the Bundesliga side want as much as €80m to sanction a departure for their star man in this window.

They report that Manchester City have informed Eintracht Frankfurt that they would like to sign Marmoush immediately. Negotiations are already underway between the player’s agents and City to make that happen.

Marmoush does not have a release clause in his current contract, though, and so Frankfurt have set an asking price of €80m. Any offers significantly lower than this will be ‘rejected immediately’.

Manchester City and Marmoush’s camp believe a transfer fee of €50-60m is ‘more realistic’. No negotiations are taking place between the clubs at this moment in time.

All indications are that will change sooner rather than later as Manchester City push to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s squad this month and try to turn their season around.

It seems they will need to significantly improve the offer they want to make, though, as there’s currently €20m between their highest price and Frankfurt’s €80m asking price and the German side have no intention of lowering.
