Back on Monday morning, we covered a couple of reports from the Italian media regarding Manchester City’s interest in AC Milan youngster Francesco Camarda.
It was said that since the player is still to turn 16, Pep Guardiola’s side are a threat to take him out of the San Siro, as they’re ‘ready to offer’ him a contract.
However, as outlet Il Milanista features a story on the youngster, it seems Manchester City may actually miss out on his signing.
The website writes that his contract renewal with Milan is ‘very close’, as he continues to grow ‘at his favourite club’ and ‘enormous steps’ have been taken for a new contract.
It’s recalled that the likes of Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid all got interested in him, but still, there’s confidence he’ll stay with the Serie A giants.
Camarda made his first team debut at the weekend, and that’s why there’s a lot of attention towards him this week. He turns 16 in March, and Milan will want him to have his first professional contract agreed right before that.
