As Everton continues to be linked to Manchester City, some people in Brazil believe he may have had his farewell match with Grêmio fans last night.

Featuring for the national team, Everton played at the Arena do Grêmio, where Brazil had a 0-0 draw with Paraguay and won on penalties.

Everton was one of Brazil’s best players once again, and had a chat with the local press after the match. He’s admitted that this may have been his last game at Grêmio’s ground, but claims he doesn’t know anything about offers.

“Whether it is or not, I have always tried to honour Grêmio’s shirt. I am grateful to this club. Happier because I was able to repay everything they bet on me. We’re still going to decide things,” said Everton (via Globo Esporte).

“I told people linked with me that if there was any proposal here at the Copa America, they would leave me alone to keep the focus here.

“I asked not to be told anything so I wouldn’t get focused on other things. So I focus on the national team. It’s a very visible competition. We end up hearing rumours. We don’t know if it’s true. Like I said, if it is or not, I gave my best here at Grêmio.”

Globo Esporte continues to claim that before the Copa America, Manchester City had shown they could pay €30m for the player. That’s close to Grêmio’s demands, since they would accept to negotiate him for €40m.

The website adds that Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Milan and Bayern Munich also have Everton ‘on their radar’. But it’s Manchester City who have been following him since his time at the academy and have been sending scouts to watch him as well.

However, it’s still claimed that Grêmio haven’t received any official bids so far.
