Manchester City strengthened their defence in the summer window by adding Sergio Gómez and Manuel Akanji to their squad.
Pep Guardiola has the heart of the back four covered with Akanji, Rúben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake and Aymeric Laporte. These players have long-term contracts with the Citizens.
This has not stopped DAC Dunajská Streda coach Adrián Guľa from suggesting that Manchester City could look at Milan Škriniar in the future.
The Inter Milan player came up through the ranks of MŠK Žilina’s youth setup before he made it to their first team. It was under Guľa’s orders he cemented his place in the senior team and that helped the defender get a move to Sampdoria in 2016.
TuttoMercatoWeb interviewed Guľa, where he was asked whether he has been in touch with his former player.
“Definitely: I have followed him throughout his career, we are always in contact with him and also with his family. He is a great guy,” he said.
Paris Saint-Germain wanted the Slovakia international in the last window, but were not able to find an agreement with the Serie A side.
When asked whether he expected the Slovakia international to change clubs in the summer, Guľa said: “My opinion is that sooner or later he will go away. Sirens like those of Paris or Manchester City cannot be refused for long.
“He has a great passion for Inter, it’s a great club with a lot of history, but going to a big club of that type would be a stimulus that I hope happens for him. We talked about it many times when he was young, we talked about his dreams: they are dreams that can be realised in teams like those.”
