Eljif Elmas’ agent Petar Tomovski has spoken to Italian radio station Radio Marte and confirmed Manchester City are interested in signing the Fenerbahce player.

The 19-year old, who played 28 games for the Turkish side this season, is expected to leave the club as the Yellow Canaries may need to sell their rising star to fund this summer’s transfers.

Speaking to Radio Marte, via Viola News, about a potential Fiorentina move, Tomovski said his client has also been attracting interest from Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund.

“He is a player who can play in the Serie A straightaway. Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach called me for him. All of them are following the player and they are very impressed with him. Also, I know that Beppe Moratta has called his international teammate Goran Pandev and asked about Elmas.”

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce president Ali Koc will likely play hardball for potential transfer negotiations as Hurriyet claimed he is prepared to keep Elmas unless someone decides to pay his release clause, which is set at €23m.

That figure wouldn’t be a problem for Manchester City, but it’s unknown how serious their interest is, or whether they’re being used to hype the situation.

The Macedonian international is under contract at Fenerbahce until June 2022.
