Such is the depth of quality at Manchester City, breaking through as a youngster is near on impossible. That’s proven to be the case for Marlos Moreno so far.
The youngster joined City in 2016 but has spent the last three years out on various loan deals in Spain, Brazil and Mexico.
He’s not part of the plans at the Etihad right now but, perhaps surprisingly, one they’re not giving up on.
Antena 2 report that Atlético Nacional were keen on the forward this summer and proposed a loan deal with City. However, it was quickly dismissed by those in charge at the Etihad.
They consider Moreno a talent for the future and want to keep him on their radar so are intent on sending him to Europe instead of back to South America.
In fact, as we’ve previously covered from Portugal, they’ve already lined up a deal with Portimonense, and this report from the player’s native Colombia suggests that’s already a deal.
It’ll be the third time Moreno has been on loan with a European side after spells at both Deportivo La Coruna and Girona but he’ll be hoping this one proves more successful than those two.
