Sergio Aguero is ‘willing to listen’ to Barcelona’s offer this summer as he plans for his future post-Manchester City.
That’s according to journalist Jose Alvarez Haya, who says the negotiation between the two is at a standstill at this moment in time.
Aguero is out of contract at Manchester City this summer, and all the signals suggest he will be leaving the club.
That has seen him linked with a move to Barcelona, with reports in his native Argentina suggesting they have already made their move to secure his signature.
That was somewhat backed up in Spain on Thursday, with it explained that the ‘operation is underway’ to sign him and the club are set to discuss the potential deal this week, with new president Joan Laporta meeting with his advisors and the sporting side of the club to discuss the pros and cons.
That suggests that deal for the Manchester City striker is not advanced at this stage, something Haya insists is very much the case.
“Nothing has advanced, at the moment it is deadlocked,” he told El Chiringuito.
“At the moment, Kun Agüero is still deadlocked in the negotiation with Barca, and he was summoned to talk to them this month.
“But at the moment there has been no further contact beyond what there was before the elections.
“The two options he is considering are Barca and Paris Saint Germain, and yes he is open to those possibilities.
“PSG have already approached Kun Aguero and his agent and have made him see the option of going there.
“And what about Barcelona? I think that in this month there are going to be moves with Joan Laporta.
“I don’t know how they will end, whether good or bad, but Kun is willing to listen to Barca and meet Messi again, something that will also be very important for Messi’s future.”
