Eduardo Camavinga is the latest Ligue 1 youngster to reportedly be of interest to top clubs around Europe.

The 17 year old Rennes midfielder is on the front cover of Tuesday’s edition of L’Equipe, and the concentration is on Real Madrid interest, but Manchester City also get a mention.

According to the French newspaper, Zinedine Zidane’s side have ‘recently positioned themselves’ to potentially sign the the player, and it’s made very clear the price is going to be high.

‘Everyone loves’ Camavinga, and Real Madrid don’t want to miss out in the same way they did when Kylian Mbappe joined PSG.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all ‘have arguments to put forward’ and convince the player, ‘particularly’ financial ones. PSG are also stated as being keen, and it’s made clear they’re watching him closely.

Rennes, meanwhile, intend on keeping their young star, even beyond the summer transfer window, although it’s stated ‘certain proposals cannot be refused’.

L’Equipe puts such a proposal at ‘nine figures’, which would mean €100m upwards.

That sounds frankly absurd at this stage, and these claims could all be designed to get the hype out there.
