Giorgio Scalvini’s development at Atalanta has caught the attention of Manchester City.
On September 22nd, we carried a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, who stated the English champions are keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.
Manchester City are now joined by clubs in Serie A and across Europe in chasing the Italy international.
That’s according to La Repubblica, who state La Dea’s impressive start to this season has seen scouts from big clubs keep tabs on their players, especially the youngsters, and Scalvini gets a mention.
Gian Piero Gasperini used him in the heart of the back four last campaign, while he has operated both as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder this term. He has a goal to his name from six league matches.
The teenager’s performances have seen him end up in the notebooks of ‘foreign’ clubs, including Manchester City.
AS Roma, Juventus and Inter Milan are in the mix, and they have already taken the first step with their Serie A counterpart to sign him.
The versatile player is valued at €20m, but Atalanta have no plans to part ways with Scalvini.
