Manchester City aren’t often pulled into big Portuguese transfer rumours, unlike their neighbours.
However, today’s Record has an article on Pep Guardiola’s side being seriously interested in Joao Felix. The 19 year old has been in great form for Benfica this season, and is considered one of the best talents to be brought through in Portugal in recent years.
Record say City ‘have already asked’ about signing the player. The Premier League club are said to be ‘very interested’ in the signing, and the Portuguese newspaper says their interest could turn into concrete actions soon.
Manchester City have asked the terms for a summer transfer, and Benfica are determined not to come down from the player’s €120m release clause, although it’s hard to imagine them seriously rejecting something above €100m.
Manchester United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are all also named as keen, with the first two said to be in negotiations for the player. Record states the presence of Pep Guardiola ‘could be decisive’, with it being claimed Felix likes the style of play on offer at Manchester City.
