Paul Pogba and Real Madrid keep being mentioned in the Spanish press, but there isn’t any concrete indication the La Liga side are keen on signing the Manchester United star.
Mundo Deportivo claims Zinedine Zidane is looking for a candidates in the market to replace Casemiro.
The Red Devils midfielder, Rennes teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga and Lille’s Boubakary Soumaré are viewed as potential targets by the Madrid based club.
Camavinga remains a priority target and the 17-year-old’s signing is Los Blancos’ main objective. His contract with Rennes is until 2022 and he’s valued around €60m.
The Catalan newspaper states Pogba still remains Zidane’s ‘great wish’, but those at Real Madrid ‘still do not see clearly the arrival’ of the World Cup winner.
There have been claims in England that Pogba has changed his mind as he contemplates the idea of continuing at Old Trafford. His current deal expires in 2021, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have an option to further extend it by a year.
Soumaré is another option and he has a similar profile to that of Casemiro. In addition to Madrid, there are other European clubs chasing him. The 21-year-old’s asking price is set at €60m.
MD’s report once again suggests Pogba’s possibility of signing for Real Madrid remains slim and it remains to be seen if Juventus, another interested club in the Frenchman, will come for him in the summer.
