After a flurry of activity just after the January transfer window, stories surrounding Ivan Perisic and his possible move to Tottenham have gone a bit quiet.
As Inter still have a chance of making the Champions League, it might not be too far fetched to presume that might have something to do with it, and the club are yet to make a final decision on the Croatian.
The player has made it rather clear he would like to try his hand at the Premier League while he still can, even going as far as teaming up with agency Doyen Sports to try and get a move going, yet no offer has materialised so far.
Inter want €40m for their winger, who has seen a drop in performances this season after a rather busy summer of getting to a World Cup final with Croatia, and Tuttosport explain they are having to plan for two scenarios: one where he is with them next year, and the other if he gets sold.
The issue here is who the manager is next season at San Siro, as Antonio Conte is widely touted as Luciano Spalletti’s replacement.
For Perisic, the former Chelsea manager’s arrival would mean a change of role, since his 3-4-2-1 formation doesn’t exactly accommodate wingers/inside forwards like the Croatian.
Perhaps that will force him to look elsewhere even more, depending on what Conte’s plans for him would be, and that might be good news for Tottenham.
Spurs interest is referenced once again in the article.
