Manchester United’s Casemiro was linked to a few clubs in the winter market including Al-Nassr, Beşiktaş and AS Roma.

Cristiano Ronaldo played with the midfielder at Real Madrid and Manchester United. He was reportedly keen on reuniting with him at Al-Nassr, but they didn’t proceed with this operation.

Beşiktaş were then credited with interest before the Serie A club were dragged in towards the end of the last window.

The 32-year-old is still at Manchester United and Flamengo have made an approach to sign him. That’s according to journalist Jorge Nicola and Bolvaip in Brazil have relayed his comments.

Former Chelsea left-back Filipe Luís is in charge at Flamengo and has given his approval to sign the Brazil international. Casemiro has struggled to enjoy regular minuets under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford and made only two substitute appearances this year.

According to the report, Casemiro currently earns R$9m [€1.5m] per month. Nicola adds the Red Devils are ready to cover a large part of his salary to send him out on loan.

The Brazilian window closes on February 28th, but Flamengo haven’t decided whether to sign the Manchester United player.

“I can assure you that Flamengo investigated the player’s situation in the last few days. The English club agree to loan him and help with part of his salary. Filipe Luís would love to count on Casemiro,” he said.

“Flamengo understand that, given all the figures, it is a very risky business. Even though United are willing to help with most of the salary, there would still be a very high amount to be paid.”
