Intent on continuing to use his very successful 3-1-4-2 at Chelsea, Antonio Conte is going to need some backup for his wing-back positions, currently occupied by Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses.

The Times reported earlier on Tuesday that West Ham’s Michail Antonio and Köln’s Jonas Hector were his targets in that department, but it seems the German side aren’t very worried about losing their star defender.

Hector, who has become a regular for the German national team, signed a new contract with the Bundesliga side earlier this summer, keeping him at the club until 2021, and this has added some much needed security to his situation at FC Köln.

Bild report the player ‘has emphasised in the past’ how happy he is playing for his current side, and isn’t exactly looking for a way out.

The German newspaper also got in touch with the club’s manager, Peter Stöger, about Chelsea’s apparent interest in his player.

His thought on the matter?: “I won’t have sleepless nights about it”.

Hector has played every single minute of every single game so far this season for the Bundesliga club, totalling 18 appearances and picking up one assist.
