Remember last year when there was that stream of reports claiming that Milan wanted Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira?
Well, it’s very likely to make a big return, but this time with Torino being the club interested in the Uruguayan.
The reason for this is Marco Giampaolo, who is widely expected to become the Serie A side’s next manager following their dismissal of Moreno Longo, and he has a list of demands, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Among the four to five players he would like to see Torino bring in to help them become a more competitive side is his former Sampdoria pupil Torreira, currently out of favour at Arsenal.
The defensive midfielder only made two starts (in a 2-1 win over Liverpool and a 1-0 loss against Aston Villa) after the season restarted, and spent the entire FA Cup final on the bench.
With Mikel Arteta seemingly preferring other options in his midfield, Giampaolo appears to be in a stronger position to get his desired reunion with the 24-year-old.
Torreira is joined by Karol Linetty, Joachim Andersen and Filip Marchwinski on the manager’s list.
