According to a claim in the Turkish media, Trabzonspor midfielder Batista Mendy is unlikely to leave the club in this transfer window despite interest from Crystal Palace.

The 24-year-old has reportedly been a long-term target for the Premier League side and they were again linked with the player several weeks ago.

Gune Bakis report on the latest developments regarding Mendy’s future and they say Trabzonspor manager Şenol Güneş wants the central midfielder to remain with them.

It’s claimed Crystal Palace, Bologna and Torino are all in the race to sign the Frenchman but as yet no official offer has come in for him.

In October, we covered reports from Turkey that Palace, along with Nottingham Forest, were monitoring the situation with Mendy, but hadn’t made an offer for the defensive midfielder. The Eagles were also linked with Mendy during the summer window.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Doğan has reportedly set his value at €20m, but it’s now likely he will only move during the summer transfer window.

Mendy has started 15 league games this season and is contracted to Trabzonspor until June 2027, with the option for a year extension.
