Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim wants Southampton loaane Mario Lemina to stay at the club beyond this season, reports Turkish newspaper Sabah.
Yesterday we covered reports from Turkey that Terim has dropped Steven Nzonzi from the first team, and Fulham’s Jean Michael Seri could return to Craven Cottage in the new year.
Today Sabah reports Terim has told the Super Lig club’s board that he’s okay parting ways with all his ‘temporary’ players including Brighton’s Florin Andone and Fulham’s Seri, but the only exception is the Southampton player.
Sabah report Lemina has a redemption clause of €16m, and Galatasaray will wait until the end of the season as they are following Southampton’s relegation battle closely.
Gala reportedly want Saints to reduce the fee, which they feel could happen if they drop down to the Championship.
The Turkish club also has a plan in place if the Premier League side won’t drop their asking price, with reports they will make another loan offer for the former Juventus player.
