According to Turkish newspaper Turkiye, Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin wants to keep Arsenal loanee Mohamed Elneny at the club for next season.
The Egyptian joined the Black Eagles from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal at the start of the campaign and he’s been featuring regularly for the Super Lig club since his arrival.
Turkiye claim Besiktas officials will soon open talks with Arsenal over another loan as they’ve ruled out the possibility signing the player on a permanent deal.
Elneny’s redemption clause is set at €18m, but it’s highly unlikely they will be able pay this to Arsenal given their financial status.
However, they will look to loan him for another 12 months, with their manager Sergen Yalcin said to be very happy with Elneny’s midfield partnership with veteran Atiba Hutchinson.
The 27 year old has made 23 appearances for Besiktas in all competitions in this campaign.
His contract at the Emirates will expire at the end of June 2022.
