According to Haberturk, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has urged the club board to sign Sunderland attacker Wahbi Khazri.
The Turkish newspaper say Gunes is keen on working with the player and wants a ‘fast completion’ on a deal for the Sunderland player.
Haberturk report Gunes was impressed with Khazri during Tunisia’s game against England, and Besiktas are now set to make an offer to Sunderland.
It’s claimed the club will make a two-year loan offer, with a right of redemption for the 27 year old. Besiktas will also include a sell-on fee percentage in order to convince Sunderland, if his move is eventually made permanent.
Khazri enjoyed a decent loan spell with French side Rennes last season where he made 24 appearances, scoring 9 goals.
After Sunderland’s relegation to League One the player is very likely to continue his career elsewhere and the Black Cats will also want him off their wage bill.
