Manchester United star Anthony Martial has a had a slow start to the season, as Jose Mourinho is still working out his best formation and where the Frenchman fits in all of that.

The 20-year-old has been in and out of the team this season for various reasons, and now could lose his place in the France national squad.

France national team boss Didier Deschamps is expected to announce his squad for the match against Sweden and Ivory Coast on Thursday, and the Manchester United striker’s place is in doubt, reports RMC Sport.

RMC Sport say Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman, who has failed to register a goal or assist this season so far, or Martial could be dropped for the upcoming matches.

Olivier Giroud is likely to return to the squad, whilst La Liga stars Antoine Griezmann and Kevin Gamiero will clearly also retain their place.

West Ham star Dimitri Payet is also in contention to keep his place, but Deschamps isn’t satisfied with the performances of Coman and Martial so far for their respective clubs.

After a blistering start to life at Manchester United, things have slowed down for Anthony Martial. It’s easy to forget the player is just 20 years of age and if Jose Mourinho shows faith then a return to top form probably isn’t too far away.
