RB Leipzig’s interim manager Zsolt Löw is turning is set to turn to former Liverpool coach Peter Krawietz in the hope he can turn around their inefficiency from set pieces.

That’s according to RB Live, who cover the situation today and comments from Löw about his plans to use Krawietz’s expertise, which he honed at Liverpool.

They explain that Löw wants to make some adjustments to get Leipzig back on track and one area of focus will be set pieces.

Leipzig are one of the most inefficient teams in the Bundesliga when it comes to attacking set pieces, with only two headed goals so far and one from a free kick.

It’s a problem which Löw intends to address after being placed in temporary charge until the summer following Marco Rose’s departure last weekend.

He’s been joined by Krawietz in being placed in temporary charge of the Bundesliga club. It’s the latter’s first job since leaving Liverpool in June after a year as part of Jurgen Klopp’s backroom team.

Part of his role at Anfield saw him focusing on set pieces and Löw wants to use that to his advantage to turn things around at Leipzig.

“We want to take our time so that we can become more effective in set pieces,” he said.

“Time to really think through what kind of player you have, what quality they have, and which of their qualities best suits defending and attacking.

“He’s (Krawietz) an absolute specialist and expert in this area. We don’t necessarily have these top-top-top shooters and these top-top-top headers who are unstoppable. But we have enough good headers.”
