Argentine side Estudiantes de La Plata continue to say they’d like to keep Manchester United loanee Marcos Rojo at the club, and it looks like the player’s wish is the same.

Today, headlines in Argentine feature the latest quotes from manager Leandro Desábato, who’s been speaking to the defender about his future.

“I called Marcos Rojo and he told me that his intention is to stay at Estudiantes, he wants to remain here. He also told me that it’s key to see what Manchester United say,” said the manager (via TNT Sports).

This isn’t the first time that Rojo’s transfer wish is made public. However, the quotes make a big noise this time due to the rumours linking him with a move to Boca Juniors.

It’s been recently claimed by the English media that the Buenos Aires club could fight Estudiantes in the battle for the 31-year-old. Despite having history playing for the La Plata side, Rojo has recently been spotted wearing a Boca Juniors jersey.

Marcos Rojo’s loan from Manchester United expires at the end of June. Due to injuries and the Coronavirus break, the defender has only made one appearance for Estudiantes during his spell.
