Giuseppe Bellusci’s Ascoli youth manager has told the Italian media the player can do better. Bellusci is currently on loan with Empoli from Leeds United after falling out of favour with the Championship side.
Speaking to TMW Radio, Sergio Pirozzi was asked how he thought Bellusci has done with his career after coaching him at Ascoli.
Pirozzi said the Leeds United loanee has always been comfortable and positive on the ball. However, the Italian coach said despite Bellusci having a good career, he believes if the player had worked harder on his heading then this would have made him a better player
“Bravo, but he can do better, he looked always look to take the ball and always tried to advance. If he had worked harder on his heading he could be better but certainly so far his career has been brilliant,” said the former Ascoli boss.
Bellusci was frozen out at Leeds United at the back end of last season after some poor performances. When Garry Monk was installed as the new Leeds United manager in the summer the 27-year-old was shipped out to Empoli, and was replaced by Pontus Jansson.
Despite having a poor disciplinary record in Serie A, Bellusci has been one of the Tuscan club’s standout players, and a permanent move could be on the cards.
