Arsenal have made an offer for the signing of manager Vítor Pereira, according to claims from Portugal on Wednesday.
Outlet Diário de Notícias says the Shanghai SIPG boss has a proposal ‘in his hands’ to replace Unai Emery at the London side.
Pereira has recently turned down the chance of joining Everton, despite making it clear he’s a fan of the Premier League.
Now the story points out the Arsenal job is far more attractive than the Toffees, and that could convince the 39-year-old to leave the Chinese side.
We must point out that Diário De Notícias doesn’t make it any clear if their information is exclusive or not. It could either be coming from their own sources or just mixing what they’ve read in the international press, although they’d usually make clear if it was the latter.
The report says the next few days should be ‘decisive’ for the manager, since he has the chance of moving away or signing a new deal where he is.
Vítor Pereira hasn’t seemed like an obvious option for either English club, so there remains the chance that Arsenal and Everton vacancies have been used to pressure Shanghai SIPG.
