Italian outlet Calcio Napoli 1926 today features an interview with manager Massimo Carrera, who’s worked at the likes of Juventus, Spartak Moscow, AEK Athens and Bari over the course of his career.
Speaking about several subjects, he was quizzed about Tottenham manager Antonio Conte, who has been having a new adventure outside of his home country with.
Carrera was full of praise for the Spurs manager, and was asked specifically whether the 52-year-old had something other managers didn’t.
“The players follow him without problems because everything he says outside the green rectangle is then reflected on the pitch.”
Conte left Inter Milan at the end of the last season despite winning Serie A with the San Siro side.
He joined Tottenham in early November to replace Nuno Espírito Santo in London, where he has been expected to turn things around rather quickly.
From his 20 games in charge of Spurs, he has 11 wins, three draws and six defeats.
His latest result, beating Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad, is certainly one of the reasons why the Italian media are proud of the job he’s doing in England once again, where he already conquered the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017.
