Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca has spoken to the media after his side’s 3-0 win against Zorya Luhansk at the weekend.
Fonseca was asked about Everton following reports the Merseyside club are interested in appointing him as their next manager.
One journalist as covered by FootballUa asked Fonseca about being offered the Everton job on a salary of €9m a season: “I can confirm that most of the stuff being said in the media about me is not true. This €9m offer is certainly one of the main examples. These kind of amounts are not true.”
It’s been widely reported in the English press that the Shakhtar boss is a target for Everton if they replace Sam Allardyce this summer.
Allardyce was drafted to replace Ronald Koeman earlier in the season, but there is discontent among many Everton fans for his style of football.
Fonseca has been a success at Shakhtar after arriving from Braga, and his team are now on course to win the title once again. They currently top the Ukrainian league, six points ahead of Dynamo Kiev with six games remaining.
