Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has given an indication he doesn’t expect any more players to arrive this summer.
The Serie A side have been linked with Middlesbrough midfielder Marten de Roon in recent weeks.
TMW have reported on comments Gasperini made last night when he was quizzed about whether they would be looking to sign the Middlesbrough star this summer: “Numerically we are in place, there will be some outgoing moves.”
Last month we covered reports that Atalanta were closing in on De Roon, but the stumbling block was the Dutchman’s valuation.
The Italian club sold De Roon to Middlesbrough for a fee in the region of €14m last summer, but the Championship side are holding out for €20m for the central midfielder.
Middlesbrough and their fans will not want to lose one of their star players, but the 26 year old could want top flight football next season due to the 2018 World Cup.
