On Monday, Tipsbladet reported Johannes Hoff Thorup has rejected Queens Park Rangers after holding talks with him.

QPR also have his compatriot and Randers FC manager Rasmus Bertelsen in their target list.

That’s according to Bold, and their title says the English club are chasing the 41-year-old.

Martí Cifuentes is technically still employed by QPR, however, that doesn’t appear anything other than contractual games after he was put on gardening leave following his flirtation with West Bromwich Albion.

Bertelsen started as a head of academy coaching at Randers in 2009 and has had various roles since then. He was promoted to first team manager in March 2023 and has been in charge of close to 100 matches so far.

As per the report, QPR are showing ‘great interest’ in the Dane, who has three years left on his contract. The Championship side have to find an agreement with his club if they wish to appoint him as Cifuentes’ successor.

Bertelsen refused to specifically respond about QPR when Bold contacted him.

“It is correct that there has been ongoing interest from various places, but I won’t go into which clubs it is,” he said.

The manager also said what he needs to leave Randers.

“As I’ve also said before, it really has to be something that has to be extremely attractive if I am to move on from Randers now.”
