Spezia manager Luca Gotti has promised Chelsea fans he will look after youngster Ethan Ampadu and use him in the right way this season.
Ampadu joined the Italian side on a season-long loan deal earlier this month as he looks for regular playing time to further his development.
He was not set to be a part of Chelsea’s plans this season so has returned to Italy instead following a spell with Venezia last season.
It is his fourth straight loan move away from Stamford Bridge since signing from Exeter in 2017, having has spells with RB Leipzig, Sheffield United and then Venezia.
None of those have been the huge success he would have hoped for, with various issues meaning he did not gain the kind of development that Chelsea were looking for.
Nonetheless, those in charge at the club still consider him a big talent for the future and Gotti has promised to look after the Welshman while he is in his care.
“Chelsea think he is a great prospect. I will try to employ him in the best way,” Citta Della Spezia report him saying.
“Tomorrow he will be available, I am confident of using him and playing him on the defensive line.
“It wasn’t so much with Tuchel that there was a talk about it, it was and is with the club in general.”
