Declaring that he had offers to choose from, Pedro once again reiterated he isn’t interested in staying at Chelsea beyond his current deal.

Then again, the big question isn’t whether or not he will remain at Stamford Bridge, but where he will go next, and it seems AS Roma are edging towards being in the lead, if Monday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport is to be believed.

As things stand, they believe it’s between Al-Sadd in Qatar, where Xavi is manager, and the Serie A side, as Real Betis’ offer isn’t of that much interest to Pedro, who isn’t looking to return to his home country right now.

They don’t think wages are his primary drive in search of a new contract, as they state the 32-year-old still feels he has a lot to give, wanting to ‘treat himself to a final challenge’ in a career that has seen him lift 23 trophies.

As has been explained before, Pedro is Paulo Fonseca’s favoured choice at Roma, as he is experienced and ‘used to winning’, which he hopes is a feature he could pass on to his young squad.

The offer is the same as has been reported on before, a three-year deal with a €3m/year salary, with two of those seeing him still playing at his best.

All big ticks which are causing Fonseca to ‘pressure’ his director of football, Gianluca Petrachi, to try and get this done ‘as soon as possible’.
