As you might be aware by now, Tottenham have been linked with the unlikely return of Mauricio Pochettino, as rumours from both England and France have suggested the Argentine wouldn’t mind working with Daniel Levy again.
However, they face the difficult task of convincing Paris Saint-Germain to let him go, with it being reported the Ligue 1 runners-up have no intention of doing that.
There are plenty of other managers out there, of course, with the likes of Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane stepping down from Inter and Real Madrid in the past 24 hours, while others, such as Maurizio Sarri, are still without a job some time after leaving their last club.
However, there is a new left-field name being touted as a potential candidate for the vacant Spurs job, and that’s Sergiy Rebrov.
That’s a name the slightly older Tottenham fanbase will remember well, as the now Ferencvaros manager used to play for the club, joining from Dynamo Kyiv in 2000 for £16.2m before leaving on a free four years later for West Ham.
The Ukrainian only made around 70 appearances during his time there, scoring 16 goals and getting one assist and TuttoMercatoWeb are now reporting he has been ‘offered’ to the London club.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Tottenham are interested, but with just one year left on his contract with the Hungarian side, having joined them in 2018 and where he has won three consecutive Nemzeti Bajnokság titles, he could be ready for a step up.
