It seems that regardless of whether or not Marcelo Bielsa ended up being Lazio’s new manager, the targets have remained the same.
The Argentinean manager apparently turned down the Italian club after they failed to meet his demands of buying and selling a certain amount of players, including West Ham’s Enner Valencia and Newcastle’s Florian Thauvin.
The latter of the two, according to Mercato365, is still a very important target for the Serie A side, as they have made him a priority as a replacement for the eventually departing of Antonio Candreva.
Marseille are also interested, but their financial status means they are further down the pecking order than the Italians.
That said, a couple of sales here and there, and the French club could potentially afford their former starlet, at least on a temporary basis.
However, the French website also warn their readers that a few other more discreet clubs are lurking in the shadows, and a surprise transfer for the young winger isn’t off the cards.
