Regional newspaper Olay report Bursaspor manager Samet Aybaba is to get personally involved in the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet.
Saivet has been linked with the Turkish side in the past week.
The Newcastle United player spent the second half of last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor, where Aybaba was the manager.
It’s expected Saivet will leave this summer, but we recently covered reports his wage demands and Newcastle United’s stance on the deal have proved a stumbling block for Bursaspor.
The player is looking for €1.2m a season from Bursapsor and Newcastle United would prefer to sell him outright, rather than loan him out again.
Olay say Aybaba is now set for personal talks with Saivet over a possible return to Turkey and a reunion with his former boss.
Saivet impressed for Sivasspor in the second half of last season, making 13 appearances for the Turkish club.
