Monday morning saw claims from the English media, specifically Chelsea-connected Matt Law, that Frank Lampard will be shown the door at Chelsea.

The manager has struggled to get the best from his squad this season after a summer window full of investment, and there have been repeat suggestions his job was on the line.

Lampard’s exit is yet to be officially confirmed, yet that hasn’t stopped claims about who will replace him. Sky Germany say the man chosen is Thomas Tuchel, who is without a club having been released by PSG.

The German reports state it’s ‘almost a done deal’, and Tuchel will therefore take over after Lampard has been dismissed, something they say will be happening at some point today.

Chelsea’s idea is likely for Tuchel to get the best out of the players invested in over the summer, specifically Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Both have struggled to live up to the hype which came with them, and that will undoubtedly have been a concern for those in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Sky Germany are very confident in their claim and say Tuchel is ‘going to take over’ at the London club.
