Earlier this week, news emerged from Germany that Edin Terzic, currently in charge at Borussia Dortmund, was one of the candidates for the Tottenham job.
It was said they were ‘intensively considering’ the young manager to replace José Mourinho at the London club, but that has been somewhat quashed by one of Bild’s journalists, Christian Falk.
Speaking on his weekly show, the German reporter explained that while Terzic ‘fulfils the profile that is currently being sought at Tottenham’, he certainly isn’t the favourite.
Falk explains that while Spurs want ‘a young and ambitious coach who basically lets play’ and ‘is not like Mourinho’, one of the reasons for their reluctance is the London club have ‘noticed he, of course, doesn’t have that much experience now’, spending most of his career off the pitch as an assistant manager.
Unfortunately, managers with his profile who also have experience are hard to come by, so it will be interesting to see where Terzic ends up.
Especially since Falk does add at the end that he is ‘definitely on the list of several English clubs’, although ‘maybe not all in the Tottenham bracket’.
