Portuguese side Braga have some difficult days ahead, which start with tonight’s league clash against Benfica.

Now what they’re really thinking about is the Europa League challenge on the way, as the Arsenalistas are soon facing Rangers FC in the quarter-finals, with the first leg taking place next week.

With manager Carlos Carvalhal preparing to switch his focus to the European competition, it’s now reported that he’ll soon travel to Glasgow to watch Rangers in action.

According to newspaper A Bola, the manager wants ‘to have the lesson well studied’, so he’s flying to Scotland on Saturday to get there in time to watch the Old Firm Derby at Ibrox on Sunday.

The report points out Carvalhal will be able to understand ‘the fantastic environment that is lived in the stadium’, and since Celtic demand ‘the best Rangers’, it’s very likely the Giovanni van Bronckhorst will use a team very close to the one he’ll put on the pitch in Portugal.

Following the Old Firm Derby, the manager returns to his country, as the first clash between the Portuguese and Rangers will be played on Thursday evening at the Estádio Municipal de Braga.
