Following the rumours which said Felipe Anderson could have his loan spell at Porto cut short this month, the Dragons’ manager Sérgio Conceição was directly asked about it.
In a press conference with the local media, the boss was quizzed if the Brazilian could soon be on his way back to West Ham, and ended up being quite evasive with his answer.
“He’s part of the work group,” said Sérgio Conceição (via O Jogo).
“As long as he’s here training with us, I always count with all the players.”
Of course that can be taken various ways, but in this case, with the manager saying ‘as long as he’s here’, that’s probably a clear sign that Felipe Anderson may not stay at Porto for much longer.
The midfielder has only made five appearances since joining the Dragons in the summer, and has been left out of most match-day squads lately.
However, in contact with the Portuguese press this week, the West Ham player’s sister and agent claimed there had been no talks for the end of the loan spell for now.
