Sérgio Conceição is one of a number of managers to be linked with the vacant job at Newcastle United.

The club this week announced they were unable to find an agreement with Rafael Benitez over a new contract, and therefore the Spaniard has moved on.

Sky Sports reported Porto’s manager was keen on replacing Benitez, saying he’s interested in the role.

However, that isn’t the stance coming from Portugal.

Saturday’s edition of Jornal de Noticias, who are usually pretty sensible, say Porto’s boss ‘doesn’t even want to listen’ to the idea of Newcastle being his next destination, not this summer anyway.

It’s stated Conceição was informed a few days ago that he’s on a shortlist the Premier League club have compiled, but he’s not keen and his ‘body and soul’ are completely committed to Porto for next season.

A source at Porto told the newspaper the move would be ‘impossible’ and that the manager is currently looking at shaping his squad for next season.
