It seems there’s a bit of trouble brewing at Juventus regarding Alvaro Morata’s future, and it has to do with Allegri.
AS on Friday report on yesterday’s news from Gazzetta dello Sport who claimed the Spanish striker was asking the Serie A club for a new contract worth £115k/week, £25k/week more than Paul Pogba’s current deal at the club.
The Spanish newspaper put these claims to bed, however, saying the player’s entourage have made it clear there has been no discussions about money with the Italian outfit, and that the reason Morata wanted to leave Juventus was because of disagreements with the manager.
Real Madrid have already made the decision they will activate their €30m (£24m) buy-back clause and sell him to a Premier League club, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all eagerly waiting.
However, while Arsène Wenger is prepared to pay up to €60m (£47.3m) for the 24-year-old, the player would actually prefer to join either Manchester United or Chelsea, where he could play under two men who played an important role in his career in José Mourinho and Antonio Conte.
AS make it clear there is only a ‘minimal chance’ the player would remain in Madrid for next season, but if he were, he’d get a £90k/week deal, a big upgrade on his current £70k/week salary.
Here’s where we stand now: Real Madrid will activate clause, Juventus get €30m, Arsenal want to spend big but the player wants United or Chelsea instead.
Who said Champions League football was all that mattered?
