Torino manager Ivan Juric has asked the club to keep Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet beyond this season.

That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, who say the Italian club could seek a reduction in the cost to sign the Belgian.

Praet is currently on loan at Torino, and while he has been out injured in the last few games, Juric remains impressed and ‘has understood the importance’ the midfielder has in his squad.

So much he has asked club chief Urbano Cairo to get a permanent deal sorted, although the Torino chairman does not plan to match the €15m clause Leicester inserted into the current loan deal.

He wants to find a different agreement, perhaps on a loan for another season that would include payments to the Foxes.

Alternatively, he could ask for a ‘significant discount’ on the price Leicester are demanding for the Belgian midfielder. That’s presumably €15m, a figure Cairo doesn’t want to pay thus he will be ‘negotiating downwards’.

What price he is willing to pay isn’t mentioned, but it seems he has no intention of matching Leicester’s asking price, meaning this could be a negotiation which runs for a while.
