This week Bayern Munich announced their manager for next season will be Julian Nagelsmann.
The current RB Leipzig manager has previously been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking for a long term replacement for Jose Mourinho, however, a move to the German champions always looked likelier.
Bayern are expected to pay more than €20m in compensation to Leipzig, a figure which includes bonuses based on the manager’s success with the Bavarian club. Leipzig now have to find their own new man, and Kicker report they’ve reached an agreement with Jesse Marsch.
He’ll be moving from Red Bull Salzburg, and it’s reported he’s rejected Tottenham in the process, leaving Spurs to continue their search for the man who will take over from interim boss Ryan Mason.
A fee has not yet been agreed between the Austrian and German sides for Marsch, although it’s not thought to be a serious issue, and therefore Kicker are confident in their claims the American will be moving to Leipzig.
